OCR Passport Scanning When Adding Passengers in Crew App
It is now possible to add passengers in the Crew App by scanning a travel document — instead of entering all details manually.
When adding a new passenger to a flight, a Scan passport button is available. Tapping it opens the device camera, allowing the crew member to take a photo of the passenger's passport or ID card. Leon then reads the document using OCR and automatically fills in the passenger's details in the creation form.
Before saving, all pre-filled fields can be reviewed and corrected manually.
How to use it
-
In the Crew App, navigate to Schedule or My Schedule and open a flight.
-
Go to the PAX tab.
-
Tap the + button to add a new passenger.
-
Tap Scan passport — the device camera will open.
-
Take a photo of the travel document.
-
Leon processes the scan and pre-fills the passenger details automatically.
-
Review the populated fields, make any corrections if needed, and save.
Duplicate detection
After the scan is processed, Leon checks whether a contact matching the scanned document already exists in the system.
-
If a matching contact is found, Leon displays it for selection. Tapping the contact uses the existing record and adds the passenger to the flight immediately.
-
If no match is found, Leon opens the passenger creation form with the scanned details already filled in, ready to save as a new contact.
-
Tapping Create new on the duplicate suggestion screen also opens the creation form pre-filled from the scan, allowing the crew member to save a separate new record.
Notes
-
The feature is available in the PAX tab of any flight in Schedule and My Schedule views in the Crew App.
-
OCR scanning works with passports and identity cards.
-
All scanned fields can be edited before saving — OCR results are never saved automatically without confirmation.
-
The required privilege for adding/editing PAX in the Crew App must be set to EDIT in the Privileges panel.
