We have recently initiated the deployment of a new version of Leon. Over the next coming days, customers will gradually transition to the updated version. If you encounter any functions that are not working as expected, please notify us via the Customer Portal.
Important Notices
-
From the beginning of 2027, ForeFlight integration will support only API V2. API V1 will no longer be available. If your ForeFlight in Leon still uses API V1, switch it to API V2 before the end of 2026.
Admin
-
Passkeys were added as an additional option for two factor authentication. More details here
-
API keys can now be marked as Sandbox-only. Such a key will not work in production, which protects your production data while you test integrations. You will find this option in the API key create/edit window (Settings > System > API Keys). More details here
-
The OAuth authorization window used by external applications now supports native Microsoft SSO login, just like the standard Leon login. Users of operators who have disabled username and password login can now authorize external applications without any issues.
-
In Manage Leon Account you can now check how many free training sessions you have left and until when they are available. More details here
-
For security reasons, we have blocked the creation of user accounts named "Leon Support" and similar variants, so that no one can impersonate our support team. "Leon" can of course still be used as a first name or surname.
Airport Directory
-
We have added a change history for airport data. A new event type in Audit Logs covers changes to an airport and all of its data. You can open the change history window for a selected airport both from Audit Logs and directly from the airport in Airport Directory.
Crew
-
Duties on the Crew Calendar and Crew Timeline can now be deleted with the DEL key. It is a small change that speeds up planners' daily work, with no need to search for the option in a menu.
Crew App
-
When sending a duty request from the Crew App, you can now change the airport at which the duty is registered. Until now the crew member's home base was always set, which was inconvenient for crew temporarily stationed at another location.
-
The hotel reservation details in the Crew App now show the PNR number entered in the Leon web version, so crew have all the information they need for check-in in one place.
Crew Training
-
The Crew Currency status dot on the Crew Calendar is now more accurate. When the view is grouped by aircraft (Aircraft based on preferred crew and Aircraft based on ratings), Leon now checks only the currencies that apply to that aircraft. You will no longer see a misleading red dot just because a qualification also covers other aircraft types the crew member does not fly. With other grouping options, currency is still checked for all types. More details here
FTL
-
The FTL details window now clearly shows how many additional local nights are required for minimum rest (e.g. due to a time zone change). Previously this information was only visible in a tooltip and was easy to miss.
-
We have added two new FTL settings that let you reflect more Operations Manual provisions in Leon:
-
Positioning longer than a defined threshold can be partially counted towards duty time (e.g. half of the time), unless the crew member receives sufficiently long rest before the next flight duty.
-
Reporting time can differ for cabin crew and flight crew, e.g. a longer reporting time for cabin crew when departing from base.
-
OPS
-
The AMOS integration now lets you select which aircraft have their data sent from Leon. Previously data for all active tails was sent. Now you can limit it to the fleet that should actually go to your MRO system. Select the aircraft in the AMOS integration tile in the Add-ons panel.
-
Fuel ordering is now live in the World Kinect (WKC) integration. We have also extended it so that fuel can be requested directly through the WKC portal. The order goes from Leon straight to the supplier instead of being sent by email. This is faster and more reliable, with no manual re-entry of data on the supplier's side. Activate the integration in the World Kinect tile in the Add-ons panel.
-
We have added a new "Traumatic Event" checkbox to the Journey Log. It lets you record a traumatic event on a flight, which supports your Fatigue Risk Management (FRM) policy. The field is also available as a column in Report Wizard, Flight scope.
Report Wizard
-
New fields in Report Wizard, FTL duty scope, let you track double days off and quadruple days off limits. The same values you see in the FTL settings and the FTL sheet can now be easily put together in a report.
Sales
-
Leon now automatically calculates the Norwegian Air Passenger Tax. The rate depends on the flight destination, with different rates for flights to Norway, to European countries covered by the low rate, and to destinations outside Europe. The tax is available both in the Sales module and in Report Wizard. More details here
Release Impact Overview
A quick overview of how the changes in this release may affect your day-to-day work in Leon. Changes are grouped by area and marked as affecting all operators or optional, with a short note on what to do, if anything. See: https://wiki.leonsoftware.com/wiki/sprint-229-release-impact-overview
In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.
