We have recently initiated the deployment of a new version of Leon. Over the next coming days, customers will gradually transition to the updated version. If you encounter any functions that are not working as expected, please notify us via the Customer Portal.
Important Notices
-
From the beginning of 2027, ForeFlight integration will support only API V2. API V1 will no longer be available. If your ForeFlight in Leon still uses API V1, switch it to API V2 before the end of 2026.
Admin
-
We have added a new event type to Audit logs: Flight crew assignments. It shows changes to crew assignments on flights. Clicking an entry opens the trip history, and you can filter events by the date and time of the change.
Airport Directory
-
You can now enter opening hours (from–to) in the handling agent / FBO profile, plus a note for non-standard cases. This information is available in the document data in the Documents Manager, so you can show it on documents such as the Crew Trip Sheet.

Crew
-
We have introduced duty categories. In Duties Setup, you can assign each duty definition to a named category. When you create a duty in the Crew Calendar or Crew Timeline, you no longer scroll through a long alphabetical list. Instead, you see categories that expand into the duties in each group. This makes life much easier for operators with many defined duties.
-
If you do not use categories, the menu looks the same as before.

-
Crew App
-
The crew member profile in the Crew App now shows the crew member's current homebases. Auditors often ask for this information, so crew now always have it at hand.
-
You can now attach files and photos to checklist items on positionings (opened from the My Schedule view), just like on flights. It works in the same interface and follows the same privileges.

Crew Training
-
We have added a new currency for offshore operations (helicopter operations at sea), in line with industry recommendations. Leon checks the required number of offshore sectors (day and night) within a given period, among other things. It also takes into account a Recency Check flight with an LTC/TRI, which extends the currency without the need to fly the required sectors again.
-
The currency is based on flights being marked as offshore in the Journey Log.
-
OPS
-
We have extended the Return to Ramp feature with a CAMO section. In the RTR window, you can now enter engine running time and cycles (Engine hours / Engine cycles) as well as APU data (APU hours / APU cycles). These values are included in the TAH/TAC/APU counters in Leon and sent as actuals to CAMO integrations. Cycles from RTR count towards the engines only, not the airframe.
-
The fields are optional. Fill them in only when the engine actually ran.

-
-
You can now send automatic email notifications about Return to Ramp events. MVT Messages has a new scenario, "Return to ramp created or changed", which is sent both when an RTR entry is added and when it is edited. This is especially useful for operators without ACARS, who now learn about the event right away.
-
RTR data is available in message templates, so you can tailor the email content to your needs.

-
-
You can now delete Return to Ramp entries, which is useful when an RTR was added by mistake.
-
You can now set the default values of checkbox items in the Journey Log yourself. For example, you can leave them empty instead of the default "YES". This way, crew consciously confirm each item rather than clicking through pre-selected answers. The change applies to both the web version and the Crew App.

The "Now" button on the OPS Timeline now sets the date according to the selected base's time zone instead of UTC. Previously, for bases with a large time difference from UTC, the selected day and the displayed range could get out of sync.
-
We have added a new trip type: Cargo charter. It is disabled by default and can be enabled for operators who perform cargo flights.
-
We have changed how accounts are assigned in the WKC fuel integration. Leon now selects the account based on the combination of aircraft and ICAO flight type. In the account configuration, you select the aircraft and ICAO flight types the account applies to, and the system makes sure that account configurations do not overlap.
-
Existing accounts have been migrated automatically with all ICAO flight types active, so your current configuration keeps working without any changes.

Phonebook
-
You can now add attachments in the Characteristics tab of a passenger profile. Crew can download them in the Crew App (in online mode) by expanding the passenger details. An icon appears next to passengers with Characteristics filled in, so crew can see at a glance who has special needs.
More information: https://wiki.leonsoftware.com/wiki/new-phonebook#CHARACTERISTICS -
Access to contacts now takes into account which bases / offices a user is assigned to. A user who does not have access to the base a contact belongs to cannot edit that contact.
Sales
-
In the DocuSign integration, we have added an extra notification by SMS or WhatsApp about a document waiting to be signed (secondary delivery notification). You enable these options with checkboxes on the integration tile. When sending, Leon suggests the phone number from the contact. You can also enter it manually, or clear it to skip the extra notification.
-
When you share booked trip details with a client (the Ops & Crew tab and the trip details page shared via link), you can now also share landing permit information, just like overflight permits.
Sched
-
The Fleet Planning generator now shows where the schedule has gaps that will need ferry flights. A grey bar between flights shows the airport codes of the positioning route. Its tooltip shows the estimated flight time (e.g. "Possible ferry flight EPWA - LFPB 01:34"), calculated from the aircraft performance model with winds taken into account.
-
Ferry flights are not created automatically. The view is meant to help with planning.

Release Impact Overview
A quick overview of how the changes in this release may affect your day-to-day work in Leon. Changes are grouped by area and marked as affecting all operators or optional, with a short note on what to do, if anything. See: https://wiki.leonsoftware.com/wiki/sprint-228-release-impact-overview
In addition to the features mentioned above, changes have been made to Leon API, which can be reviewed in the provided changelog.
