Scope - Subcharter Flights

Overview

The Subcharter Flights scope covers flights operated by third-party carriers (wet lease operators) on behalf of your organization. When you need a flight operated by an external company rather than your own aircraft — for example, to fulfill a client booking when your own fleet is unavailable — that arrangement is recorded as a subcharter flight. This scope captures the full picture of such flights: the subchartered aircraft, the operating carrier's details, the route, scheduled and actual times, commercial terms, crew, passenger data, and safety ratings.

Operators use this scope to monitor subcharter performance, analyze costs and margins, review safety compliance of external operators, and report on subcharter activity for both internal management and client-facing purposes.

What reports can you build with this scope?

Examples of typical reports operators build with this scope:

  • Monthly subcharter cost summary by operator — showing price per leg, margins, and base currency per external carrier

  • Subcharter safety compliance report — listing safety rating names, codes, and standards for each operator used

  • Route and capacity analysis — comparing PAX numbers, cargo weights, and block times across subchartered flights

  • Contract utilization report — tracking contract block hours consumed against contracted limits per external operator

  • Subcharter Flight Watch actuals report — comparing scheduled times with actual off-block, takeoff, landing, and on-block times recorded by Flight Watch
