Why does Leon show a different maximum FDP than I expected?
Leon calculates the maximum FDP from the FTL scheme assigned to the crew member, using the reporting time (acclimatised or non-acclimatised), the number of sectors, and any applicable extensions. If the value looks wrong, first confirm which FTL scheme is assigned to that crew member and whether the duty was entered with the correct reporting time. Most "incorrect FDP" cases turn out to be a mismatch between the operator's OM-A and the configured FTL settings.
Why is the minimum rest calculated differently after an East–West (time-zone crossing) rotation?
Leon applies the time-zone-difference rules of your FTL scheme, which can extend minimum rest after crossing multiple time zones. The exact thresholds and required rest come from your FTL configuration, which should mirror your OM-A Chapter 7. If the calculated rest does not match your OM-A, ask Support to review the relevant FTL settings.
Can a commander's discretion extension of the FDP be recorded in Leon?
Yes, commander's discretion can be recorded on the duty, and Leon will then assess the extended FDP against the discretion limits of your FTL scheme. The extension is visible in FTL reports so it can be tracked for compliance purposes.
Does Leon apply FTL limits to private (non-commercial) flights?
Flights marked as non-commercial can be treated differently by the FTL engine depending on your configuration — some operators apply full FTL, others apply reduced or no limits for private operations. Check how your FTL scheme is configured for non-commercial flights, and contact Support if your regulatory setup requires a different behaviour.
Why didn't Leon show a violation when one was expected (or why does it show one that seems wrong)?
FTL warnings and violations are driven entirely by the FTL scheme configuration, so unexpected results usually mean a setting (for example post-flight duty time, recovery-rest definition, or positioning treatment) differs from your OM-A. Review the duty details first — reporting time, sectors, positioning flags — then ask Support to audit the specific FTL setting if the calculation still looks wrong.
Is positioning counted as duty in FTL calculations?
Yes, positioning ordered by the operator counts as duty, and positioning after a flight sector but before rest counts as part of the duty period (though not as FDP for the following limits, in line with EASA rules). How positioning is treated in edge cases depends on your FTL scheme settings.
Can we change the default post-flight duty time?
Yes, the post-flight duty time is configurable per FTL scheme and can be adjusted to match your OM-A (for example 30 minutes instead of the default). Contact Leon Support to change this value if you do not have access to the FTL settings yourself.
