How do I add a positioning duty in Leon?
Positioning can be added as a dedicated positioning activity in OPS or the Crew Calendar, with its own start/end times, route, and assigned crew. Positioning entered this way is included in duty calculations and appears on the crew member's timeline.
Does positioning count toward FDP and duty limits?
Positioning ordered by the operator counts as duty, and positioning performed before a flight sector as a crew member is included in the FDP; positioning after the last sector counts as duty but not as FDP. Leon applies these rules automatically according to your FTL scheme — most disputes come from a positioning being entered with the wrong type or timing rather than from the calculation itself.
Why is my positioning not connected to the flight in duty calculations?
Positioning links to the surrounding flight duty when the timing makes it continuous — a gap between the positioning and the flight duty can cause Leon to treat them as separate duties. Verify the positioning end time against the flight reporting time; adjust the times or the entry type if the two should form one continuous duty period.
Can crew see other crew members' positionings?
Visibility of colleagues' duties, including positionings, depends on permissions — crew typically see their own schedule, while broader visibility (for example the whole crew timeline) requires additional rights. Grant timeline visibility to roles that coordinate travel, rather than opening it to everyone.
How is positioning displayed in the calendar — local time or UTC?
Positioning duties follow the time-zone mode of the calendar view (UTC, LT, or base time), the same as any other duty, so the displayed hours shift with the selected mode. If a positioning seems to be on the wrong day or at odd hours, check the view's time-zone setting before editing the duty.
Can crew add their own positionings in the Crew App?
Crew can request or add duties only where the operator's configuration allows it — in a locked (published) roster or in a restricted drafts mode, crew additions may be blocked by design.
