Password reset
If a user forgets their Leon password, they can reset it themselves from the login screen.
-
At operator_ID.leon.aero, click Forgot your password? Click here.
-
Enter the operator code and the user's login, then click Email me. A message with a one-time link is sent to the work email address set in the user's profile.
-
Click the link in the email. Leon opens a form where the new password can be set — the password must be at least 15 characters long and has to be entered twice.
-
If the user has 2FA configured, the form also asks for the current 6-digit code from their authenticator app.
-
After the password is changed, a confirmation email is sent. It contains no password and no 2FA details.
A few things worth knowing about the link:
-
It is valid for 30 minutes and can be used only once — after a successful password change it is deactivated immediately.
-
Opening or refreshing the form does not use up the link; only a completed password change does.
-
If a reset is requested more than once, only the link from the most recent email works.
-
After six incorrect 2FA codes the link is invalidated permanently and a new reset has to be requested.
-
The link is tied to one specific user, so it cannot be reused for a different account.
When a new user is created by an administrator, the welcome email contains the same kind of link, but it is valid for 24 hours rather than 30 minutes.
